Hive Toolkit GIS is a LAMP based application that uses a graphical user interface front end to store, edit and display either flat or multidimensional coordinate arrays.
Hive Toolkit GIS allows you to view, understand, question, interpret, and visualize data in many ways that reveal relationships, patterns, and trends in the form of maps and reports. Hive Toolkit GIS helps you answer questions and solve problems by looking at your data in a way that is quickly understood and easily shared. Hive Toolkit GIS technology can be integrated into any enterprise information system framework.
A GIS is most often associated with a map. A map, however, is only one way you can work with geographic data in a GIS, and only one type of product generated by a GIS. A GIS can provide a great deal more problem-solving capabilities than using a simple mapping program or adding data to an online mapping tool (creating a "mash-up").
Two dimensional storage access (Coordinates, Time / Category). You have complete access to two separate data sets. One with encapsulated data and one that stores pure coordinate data.
Advanced media edit function that supports:
Geo-coding of naturally written addresses. A new address entry, no matter how incomplete or incorrect, will automatically generate the nearest match to that location along with correct coordinates.
Customizable Fields for Category, Time Period, Time Range, and Sub Areas. You can control, enable, or disable each section individually. You can also change the values within each section.
Custom fields that can be created such as drop downs, hyper links, single and large text fields.
Time-stamped communication system. The system notes and data-entry notes are time/date stamped for more efficient and updated communication.
Image / Photo bank that preforms proportion constraining resizing of photographs.
Omni-tiered user access system, in which users may have access to all systems provided that they are given by the administrator.
Supports both KML and CSV based data imports.
Administrate entry approval for Time / Category data. This option gives administrators the chance to correct or clean up entries from their users before it goes into the database, saving on expensive data editing time.
Multidimensional geo-coordinate array system that features:
Customization of data naming conventions both in the administration and client side. Easily change data set labels to cover general or specific concepts.
Full HTML and CSS supported client documentation.
Assignable and customizable map iconography. The symbols and iconography used on your map projection views are entirely up to you.
CSS Based Content Management System (CMS) framework makes customization simple. Tools are included allow users and administrators with little or no knowledge of programming languages or markup languages to create and manage content with relative ease of use.
Category editor allows you to create parent categories with sub-categories underneath them. Data can be categorized as they are entered. This allows for refined organization within data sets for faster, more efficient searches.
Different search options to pick from the user and administrator point of view. There are projections view, map view, and select view (sentence compiler or query).
